Find air leaks, trace unusual equipment noise, and locate potential electrical discharge sources using your Android phone. The FOTRIC Sonic3 turns sound into a visible map, helping you narrow down where to inspect and show others where attention is needed. Its lightweight design makes it easy to carry between workshop, HVAC, and maintenance checks.

Description

  • Find Leaks You Cannot Hear: See sound locations overlaid on your phone’s camera view, helping you identify which fitting, valve, or connection needs a closer check. The 64-microphone array captures audible and ultrasonic signals across 2–100 kHz.

  • Reduce Wasted Air and Time Spent Searching: Inspect compressed-air lines, vacuum systems, pneumatic valves, and accessible HVAC connections for leak-related sounds. Narrow down the source so you can focus repairs and reduce unnecessary compressed-air loss.

  • Investigate Equipment Noise and Electrical Concerns: Trace abnormal sounds around running machinery to guide further mechanical checks. Locate ultrasonic activity that may indicate partial discharge in electrical equipment, providing a visual starting point for further assessment.

  • Focus on the Sound That Matters: Adjustable frequency selection and Acoustic Image Focus help reduce background interference when inspecting busy environments. Switch between single-source, multi-source, and hologram views to isolate one source or understand how sound is distributed.

  • Use Your Android Phone for On-Site Checks: Connect to a compatible Android 12+ phone through USB-C and open the FOTRIC Genie app. Sonic3’s built-in rechargeable battery powers the acoustic camera independently, reducing its reliance on your phone for power during inspections.

  • Choose a Setup That Suits the Job: Use the included ergonomic handle for handheld inspections or attach Sonic3 magnetically to the back of your phone for a compact setup. At 200 g, with an aluminum-alloy housing and 1-meter drop resistance, it is practical to carry between inspection points.

View All Support Resources
Will Sonic3 work with my phone?
  • Compatibility: Sonic3 works with compatible Android 12+ phones through USB-C. It does not support iPhones or iOS.
  • App required: Install the FOTRIC Genie app to view and control acoustic imaging.
  • Before buying: If you are unsure about your phone model, contact us to confirm compatibility.
Will it drain my phone’s battery during an inspection?
  • Independent power: Sonic3 has a built-in rechargeable battery to power its acoustic hardware.
  • Your phone still uses power: Running the app and keeping the screen on will consume your phone’s battery.
  • For longer jobs: Charge both devices before heading out so you can spend more time inspecting.
Can it help me find a leak I cannot hear?
  • See ultrasonic sound: Sonic3 displays sound locations over your phone’s camera view, helping you narrow down which fitting, valve, or connection to check.
  • Useful applications: Inspect compressed-air systems, vacuum systems, and accessible pressurized HVAC connections for leak-related sounds.
  • Detection depends on conditions: Leak strength, pressure difference, distance, and background noise affect results. The stated 0.3–60 m working range does not mean every leak can be detected at 60 m.
Can I use it while machinery is running?
  • Reduce interference: Acoustic Image Focus and adjustable frequency selection help you concentrate on the sound you are investigating.
  • Choose your view: Use single-source mode to focus on one location, or multi-source and hologram modes to examine several sources.
  • Check from different angles: Changing your position and frequency range can help distinguish a suspected leak from nearby equipment noise.
Do I have to hold the camera and phone separately?
  • Compact setup: Attach Sonic3 magnetically to the back of your phone using the included magnetic ring.
  • Handle option: Use the included ergonomic handle when it suits your inspection position.
  • Easy transport: The camera weighs 200 g and includes a soft carrying bag to keep the kit together between jobs.
Can it find leaks behind walls or confirm an electrical fault?
  • Accessible sound sources: Sonic3 detects airborne sound. Walls and other solid barriers can block it, so it is not designed to locate concealed pipe leaks through a wall.
  • Electrical checks: It can help locate ultrasonic activity that may be associated with partial discharge.
  • Guide your next step: Use the visible sound location as a starting point for further inspection; it does not identify the exact fault or confirm a repair on its own.
